Walkers Motor Group are a family owned business operating the Peugeot and Vauxhall Franchises.
We’re now looking for a talented Vehicle Technician to work at our Vauxhall Retailer in Worksop.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all service, repair and maintenance work is completed on all vehicles efficiently. Every job must meet the required standards including the completion of any administrative processes. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of makes and models from most manufacturers. Developing your skills and staying up to date with the latest vehicle technology, you will relish the opportunity to work in a busy workshop.
Day-to-day duties
- To carry out all preparation work for all new and used vehicles efficiently and competently to manufacturer standards, including service check sheets, battery test reports, printouts when required from diagnostic equipment and all other necessary reports.
- To complete any additional service or repair work required as instructed by the service manager.
- Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
- Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and resolving defects.
- Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing.
- Road testing vehicles to check repairs.
- Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
- Completing all documentation to the required standard.
Essential skills
- A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry.
- Ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a busy team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to carry out work to high standards to deadlines.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach.
- A full driving licence
- An MOT Tester
